London-based enterprise AI and cybersecurity company Prevalent AI has raised $22 million (around ₹210 crore) in growth investment from US-based private equity firm Integrity Growth Partners, opening a new phase of global expansion that is also expected to benefit its development operations in Kochi.
The company, co-founded by Malayali entrepreneur Arun S. Raj and UK national Paul Stokes in 2017, said the investment will support its expansion in the United States, strengthen its global commercial operations and broaden its technology beyond cybersecurity into areas such as financial crime, compliance and wider enterprise risk.
For Kerala, one of the key implications is the expected expansion of Prevalent AI’s development centre at Infopark, Kochi. Arun Raj, the company’s co-founder and Chief Operating Officer, said the company’s increasingly global focus would naturally create opportunities to expand its operations in the state, potentially generating additional employment opportunities.
First primary funding after nine years
The funding marks a significant milestone for Prevalent AI. The company says this is the first primary capital it has raised in its nine-year history.
Since its founding in 2017, Prevalent AI had built and expanded its business without external growth capital, relying largely on revenue generated from its operations. The company also says it has remained profitable since securing its first customer.
The latest investment therefore represents a shift from a largely bootstrapped growth model to one backed by institutional capital.
Integrity Growth Partners, a Los Angeles-based growth private equity firm, will work with Prevalent AI as it scales its commercial organisation and expands internationally. The funding will be directed towards sales, marketing, customer success, partnerships, leadership and product development.
From cybersecurity to enterprise AI
Prevalent AI initially built its business around a problem faced by large organisations: enterprise data is often fragmented across hundreds of security, IT and other business systems.
Its AI-powered data fabric and knowledge graph are designed to bring this information together, continuously clean and connect it, and provide organisations with a more unified view of their systems, assets, controls and risks.
The company began with cybersecurity, where fragmented data can make it difficult for organisations to identify vulnerabilities and understand their overall security environment.
It now plans to apply the same underlying technology to a wider range of enterprise functions. These include financial crime analysis, compliance, operational intelligence and enterprise AI applications.
US expansion becomes a priority
Until now, Prevalent AI has concentrated much of its business across markets including Europe, Australia and Singapore. The new capital is expected to accelerate its entry and expansion in the US market.
The company also plans to establish a more formal global go-to-market organisation covering sales, marketing, customer success and partnerships. Its leadership team is being strengthened as part of the next phase of growth.
The company’s expansion comes as businesses increasingly deploy artificial intelligence across their operations, creating greater demand for reliable and connected enterprise data.
Kochi gains strategic importance
The investment could also strengthen Kochi’s role in Prevalent AI’s technology operations.
The company already operates a development centre at Infopark. With its global business expected to expand, the centre is positioned to play a larger role in product development and engineering.
For Kerala’s technology ecosystem, the development is notable because it connects a Kochi-based technology operation with the international growth plans of a London-headquartered AI company.
An expansion of the development centre could also create opportunities for technology professionals in areas such as software engineering, artificial intelligence, data, cybersecurity and enterprise technology.
Backed by intelligence-sector expertise
Prevalent AI has built its business with a team that includes individuals with backgrounds in the UK intelligence and cybersecurity sectors.
Its advisory network includes Sir Iain Lobban, former Director of the UK’s Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), while the wider team has included former GCHQ cybersecurity professionals.
The company says its technology is used by global banks, telecommunications companies and critical infrastructure operators, among other highly regulated organisations.
With the $22 million investment, Prevalent AI is now moving from nearly a decade of self-funded growth into a more aggressive international expansion phase — while its Kochi development base is expected to become part of that next chapter.
