VeeGaland Developers made a strong debut on the Indian stock exchanges, with its shares opening at ₹154 on the NSE, marking a 10% premium over its initial public offering (IPO) price of ₹140.

The stock also made a positive debut on the BSE, where it opened at ₹151, representing a gain of 7.86% over the issue price. The early gains, however, were followed by profit booking, with the stock subsequently falling to ₹146.30, its lower circuit level at the time of reporting.

The listing marks a significant milestone for Kerala’s real estate sector, as VeeGaland Developers becomes the first real estate company from the state to enter the stock market through an IPO.

The company was founded in 2011 by entrepreneur Kochouseph Chittilappilly, making VeeGaland Developers the third company established by him to reach the stock market. V-Guard Industries and Wonderla Holidays are the other two listed companies associated with the entrepreneur.

Strong Investor Response to IPO

VeeGaland Developers had set a fundraising target of ₹210 crore through its IPO. The issue received strong investor interest, with overall subscriptions reaching 14.60 times the shares on offer.

Retail investors subscribed 9.95 times, while non-institutional investors placed bids for 19.41 times the portion reserved for them. Qualified institutional buyers also showed strong demand, with their category subscribed 19.13 times.

The successful listing gives the company access to public-market capital at a time when it is looking to expand its residential development activities.

Focus on Residential Projects

VeeGaland Developers operates primarily in the premium residential segment through its VeeGaland Homes brand. The company has completed 10 residential projects so far, while another 12 projects are currently under development.

According to the company’s plans, a significant portion of the IPO proceeds will be used to support ongoing construction projects and strengthen funding requirements. The company also plans to use the funds for acquiring land for future developments.

Following the market debut, VeeGaland Developers has gained visibility among investors as a Kerala-based real estate business entering the listed market, while its future performance will depend on project execution, property demand and its ability to expand its development pipeline.
