Silver Storm, the Kerala-based tourism and entertainment destination, is set to expand its attractions with the launch of new cable car facilities and a Jungle Storm–Forest Village at Athirappilly on August 23, as the company steps up investment and broadens its footprint beyond the state.
The new attractions will be inaugurated at 4 p.m. on Sunday. The launch ceremony is expected to bring together senior political leaders, public officials and representatives of the tourism and entertainment industry.
Cable cars to offer aerial views of Athirappilly
The new cable car attraction, branded as Sky Storm, has been designed to provide visitors with elevated views of the Chalakudy River and the surrounding Western Ghats. The facility is expected to handle more than 5,000 visitors a day.
Silver Storm said the cable car experience has been developed with technology and standards comparable with attractions in destinations such as Switzerland and Singapore, adding a new dimension to Athirappilly’s tourism offering.
Alongside the cable cars, Jungle Storm–Forest Village has been developed as an environment-focused attraction incorporating forest landscapes, tribal-style huts and opportunities to observe rare flora and fauna. The facility will also feature an aquarium, walking trails and collections of uncommon plant species.
More than ₹100 crore being invested in park expansion
The latest attractions form part of a broader investment programme exceeding ₹100 crore at Silver Storm. The expansion includes 25 new rides, comprising eight high-thrill water rides and seven adventure amusement rides, alongside the park’s existing attractions.
The company said the combination is aimed at creating a differentiated entertainment offering and positioning Silver Storm as the first park in India to bring together these categories of new attractions in a single development.
Two additional restaurants have also been established as part of the expansion, with the company seeking to improve dining and visitor services as footfall increases.
According to Managing Director A.I. Shalimar, the park has recorded cumulative footfall of around 15 million visitors since its operations began.
Silver Storm targets expansion beyond Kerala
The company is also pursuing a national expansion strategy after nearly 25 years in the tourism and entertainment business.
Following the launch of a snow park in Jamshedpur in 2025, Silver Storm plans to open a family entertainment centre and snow park in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The company is also positioning its portfolio around multiple tourism formats, including water theme parks, snow parks, cable cars, forest attractions and resorts.
Silver Storm said the combination of these offerings under one business umbrella could give it a distinctive position in India’s tourism and entertainment market.
The company’s expansion comes as destinations increasingly seek integrated leisure experiences that combine adventure, nature and family entertainment. With the new Athirappilly attractions and planned investments in other states, Silver Storm is seeking to move from a predominantly regional operator toward a broader national tourism and entertainment brand.
Company Chairman P.K. Abdul Jaleel, promoter Siraj V.A., Independent Director K. Aravindakshan, CFO K. Ramachandran and Marketing Manager Shajith also attended the press conference held at the park.
