Kochi: Air India Express is set to strengthen its international network from Kerala with the launch of a new direct service connecting Kochi and Bangkok from October 25.
The airline will operate four flights a week between Kochi and the Thai capital, with services scheduled on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The new route is expected to provide another direct travel option for passengers flying between Kerala and Thailand.
The flight will depart from Kochi at 10.15 pm and arrive in Bangkok at 3.55 am. The return service will leave Bangkok at 4.55 am and reach Kochi at 7.40 am. Boeing 737 aircraft will be deployed on the route.
The new service will expand Air India Express’s international presence from Cochin International Airport, while giving passengers an additional choice in a market that already has connectivity through airlines including AirAsia and Thai Lion Air.
The Kochi-Bangkok route is also significant from a business and tourism perspective, offering direct connectivity between Kerala and one of Southeast Asia’s major travel and commercial destinations.
Air India Express Introduces New Cabin Crew Uniform
Air India Express has also introduced a new uniform for its cabin crew, drawing inspiration from India’s diverse textile traditions and handicrafts.
The new design is part of the airline’s ‘Tales of India’ campaign and incorporates visual elements inspired by traditional textiles and crafts from different regions of the country. The design features influences from Kancheepuram in Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh’s traditional fabrics, Gujarat’s Patola, Assam’s Gamusa and Madhya Pradesh’s Bagh textile tradition.
The uniform was designed by Air India Express’s in-house designer Pooja Krishnan. Banana crepe fabric has been used for the new attire.
The airline’s latest uniform initiative is positioned as an effort to bring India’s regional textile heritage into the brand’s visual identity, while giving its cabin crew a distinctive new look.
Together, the new international route and the refreshed cabin crew uniform highlight Air India Express’s continuing efforts to expand its network and strengthen its brand identity as it grows its presence in the Indian aviation market.
