Businesses across India are set to benefit after the Central Government reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹200, easing operational costs for restaurants, hotels, caterers and other commercial establishments. The latest revision comes after a period of steep price increases driven by volatility in global energy markets during the West Asia conflict.
The reduction applies only to commercial LPG cylinders, while the price of the 14.2-kg domestic cooking gas cylinder remains unchanged.
With the latest revision, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder in Kolkata has dropped to ₹2,872.50. Industry observers believe the move will provide meaningful cost relief to businesses that rely heavily on LPG for daily operations, particularly in the hospitality and food service sectors.
The price cut marks the second consecutive reduction following months of sharp increases linked to global fuel market uncertainty. Analysts say the government’s decision could help improve operating margins for commercial users, although household consumers will not see any immediate benefit as domestic LPG prices remain unchanged.
